In a role reversal during the Premier League era, the hosts face their bitter rivals chasing a place in Europe, while the Anfield outfit are well and truly in the title race.
 

Manchester United boss David Moyes has described Sunday's clash with rivals Liverpool as "the biggest game in the Premier League".

As in recent seasons, the fixture does not pit two title rivals against one another, although this time around it is the reigning champions who have struggled to keep pace at the top rather than their Merseyside visitors.

Clear-cut chances were at a premium on Wednesday as Manchester United recorded a competitive goalless draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The match started at a fair pace and Robin van Persie should have scored against his former club in the second minute when his scuffed shot was easily saved by Wojciech Szczesny. Not to be outdone, the Gunners then went close through Olivier Giroud, whose header flew just wide of the back post.
Playing on the left, Juan Mata began quietly but showed a glimpse of his immeasurable ability when a wonderful through-ball led to Van Persie firing a right-footed shot wide in the 19th minute. Moments later, Giroud gave everyone a sense of déjà vu as he nodded away from David De Gea’s goal for the second time. Darren Bent's injury-time equaliser helped rock-bottom Fulham claim a point in a dramatic 2-2 draw at Manchester United on Sunday.

Half-time substitute Bent headed in during the fourth minute of added time as United's comeback, led by late goals from Robin van Persie and Michael Carrick, was ultimately denied.

Fulham – who sit bottom of the Premier League table and had lost their last 11 trips to Old Trafford – claimed a shock lead in the 19th minute through Steve Sidwell.
